The Lincolnton, NC Conversion, Customizing, and Packaging Center is located approximately 30 miles from Charlotte, NC. This facility employs over 400 full-time associates in a 5-shift operation, covering 235,000 sq ft with 12,000 SKUs. Besides conversion, customizing, and packaging activities, abrasives are now a significant part of our power tool accessory business. Our associates engage in BPS, CIP, and 5S initiatives. **Job Description**

The operator of the Cut and Pack process will be responsible for running an automated system that cuts and packages sandpaper sheets. Responsibilities include changeovers, material loading, quality checks, and managing the process flow. As a Cut and Pack Specialist, maintaining a positive work environment and adhering to safety procedures are essential.

**Qualifications**

**Required Knowledge, Skills, Ability, Training, Experience, etc.**

• Proficiency in understanding proper product flow on the machine – Intermediate
• Understanding and following 5S procedures related to machine cleanliness and tool organization – Intermediate
• Ability to record downtime, machine breakdowns, and organizational failures in daily management sheets – Senior
• Ability to use HMI to select proper programs – Intermediate
• Ability to mechanically change over an automated machine following work instructions and training – Intermediate
• Understanding and following BPS standards and their interactions – Entry level

**Additional Information**

• Load material onto the machine as needed
• Operate pin lift, pallet lift, and hoist
• Set up, start, and successfully operate the machine
• Make adjustments to the machine as necessary
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairs following escalation procedures
• Read and follow standard operating procedures
• Adhere to quality standards and measures
• Maintain machine cleanliness and tool organization
• Follow all safety procedures related to machine operation

The machine features a feeding system with clamp beams on an idle conveyor, motorized for automation. The system includes clamp beams before and after the cutting head. Touch screen parameters allow setting material width to minimize waste, and a recipe menu enables saving setup data for various configurations—recalling a recipe simplifies setup.
