Job summary

Whole Foods Market IP. L.P. is seeking a Machine Operator for the coffee/tea packaging area in Colorado. You will operate and maintain packaging equipment, ensure safety and quality, and prepare materials for production. Strong mechanical aptitude and calendar flexibility are needed.

The role requires reading operator manuals, logging production data, and working with ERP/handheld scanner systems, with opportunities for overtime as schedules demand.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience as a packaging operator or similar technical role.
• Food manufacturing experience and GMP knowledge preferred.
• Strong mechanical abilities.
• Must be able to read and understand operator manuals.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn tasks performed on tablet and handheld scanner.
• Proficient math and computer skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Flexibility to meet changing production schedules and overtime hours.
• Able to perform physical requirements including standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing up to 10 hours daily and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Job description

Reports to the Packaging Team Leader. The Machine Operator performs various duties within production and packaging area with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. These include operating, maintaining, and cleaning packaging equipment for coffee/tea, quality checks, and material prep (grinding/blending).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates coffee/tea packaging equipment meeting all safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
• Sets up equipment for production.
• Makes minor and reasonable adjustments on machine.
• Performs mechanical changeovers on equipment.
• Records production data as expected into an ERP System/Productivity System, or on paperwork.
• Cleans/sanitizes equipment.
• Cleans the production area (wipe down, mop, and sweep) according to established schedules.
• Follows established quality standards.
• Performs additional job duties as required.
• Complies with all issued policies and procedures documented in the Allegro Operating Manuals and regulations, including SQF, GMP, HACCP, FDA, OSHA, NSF, NOP, and any local/state/federal requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• 1+ years experience as a packaging operator, or other technical/mechanical role required.
• Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is preferred.
• Strong mechanical abilities.
• Must be able to read and understand operator manuals.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn tasks performed on tablet and handheld scanner.
• Proficient math and computer skills.
• Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
• Must demonstrate flexibility to meet quickly changing production schedules and job assignments that may involve extended or overtime hours.
• Able to perform physical requirements of position including standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing up to 10 hours daily in addition to lifting up to 50 lbs.

The wage range for this position is $22.15-$38.70 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
