Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Maryland seeks a Production Team Member to support Cooks, Machine Operators and Expeditors by preparing raw ingredients for hot and cold production. You will prep, portion, and assemble materials to meet daily targets with focus on safety and quality.

You will weigh and stage materials, operate industrial kitchen equipment, ensure correct labeling and batch dates, and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a production kitchen or food manufacturing facility environment.
• Basic understanding of various prepping and cooking processes utilized in a high-volume, USDA-certified food facility.
• Basic understanding of executing production orders efficiently within a food manufacturing or kitchen environment, ensuring timely completion while maintaining a high standard of culinary excellence.
• Ability to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with little supervision.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility, including nights, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and sanitary working environment and maintain equipment in accordance with Whole Foods Market cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
• Report safety violations and hazards immediately; help maintain facility security.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must adhere to company dress code and standards of production kitchen dress and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodation.
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
• Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
• Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.li>

The wage range for this position is $21.50-$35.00 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers "Whole Benefits".
