Job summary

Hendrickson in Ridgeway, NY is seeking a skilled machinist to operate Robotic Cells and manual lathes, reading blueprints and setting up programs to turn parts to exact dimensions. This role includes monitoring tolerances, adjusting tools, and inspecting parts for accuracy.

You will work with robots, center benches, and related equipment, and must demonstrate good verbal and written communication, basic math, and the ability to read specifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CNC machining experience is a plus.
• Experience reading blueprints and orders.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and blueprint specifications to determine the program to run.
• Review material requirements and determine machine adjustments.
• Set machines up with provided program and adjust as needed.
• Manually maneuver robots when necessary.
• Multi-task several operations.
• Measure parts for dimensional accuracy using precision gauges.
• Follow written and oral work instructions.
• Work well with supervision and co-workers.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Operates Robots, Center Bench, Heat Treat and Hobb or Rack Roller. Stacks finished parts in shipping containers. Make tolerance adjustments and perform tool changes. Inspect parts to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Essential Functions

Education And Training

• High School Diploma or GED
• CNC Machining experience is a plus

Minimum Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as, but not limited to calipers, snap gauges, height gauges, ring gauges, pin gauges and micrometers.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to read blueprints and orders
• Computer literacy to record information

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand continuously for 8 - 12 hours
• Ability to work in tight places
• Strength and manual dexterity sufficient to operate tools to make repairs
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds repetitively
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. occasionally
• Ability to twist, bend and lift repetitively
• Ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform repairs, use ladders and perform various types of manual labor
• Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills
• Environmental Conditions:
• Exposure to loud noises
• Exposure to hot and humid conditions
• Exposure to coolants, oils, grease and water
• Ear and Eye protection required at all times in all production areas
• Steel toe boots with integrated metatarsal guards required in production area
