Job summary

Lakeside Manufacturing, Inc is seeking a skilled 1st Shift Machine Operator to join our team. You will set up and operate small mechanical press brakes, punch presses, deburring machines, and other equipment to fabricate stainless steel products to exact specifications.

The role requires reading blueprints, inspecting first pieces, and maintaining quality standards while supporting a collaborative, safety-first work environment with ample learning opportunities and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma/GED equivalent, plus 1-3 years related experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, tape measure, micrometer, square, and protractor.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Lakeside is currently seeking a skilled 1st Shift Machine Operator to join our dedicated team. This is a key role responsible for precision welding and assembly of stainless steel products that meet our high-quality standards and customer specifications.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

• Schedule: 4-day workweek – Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts
• Shift: 1st Shift 5:00 am - 3:30 pm
• Overtime: As needed, additional hours are available on Fridays
• Work Environment: Culture forward, team-oriented, safety-first, free coffee, nice lunchroom

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Setup and operate all of the following machinery:
  • Small mechanical press breaks and small mechanical punch presses
  • Deburring machines
  • Straightener
  • Large shear
  • Cold saw
  • Drill table
  • Hand bender
  • Spotfacer
• Perform first piece inspection to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Read parts lists, blueprints, and drawings.
• Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to Company procedures.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Requires a high school diploma/GED equivalent, plus 1-3 years related experience
• Ability to read blueprints, tape measure, micrometer, square, and protractor.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to successfully pass forklift certification.

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand up to 9 hours a day.
