Job summary

Kelly Services seeks a Machine Operator Batcher in Niles, IL to prepare and mix ingredients with accuracy and maintain high quality standards. You will verify formulas, weights, and labeling, monitor temperatures, and complete batch records to support a safe, efficient production line.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years manufacturing experience required (food processing preferred).
  • Ability to perform basic math and use computer-based batching programs.
  • Basic food safety & associate safety knowledge.
  • Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt and make quality decisions in fast-paced environments.
  • Team player with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate mixers, scales, timers, and systems for accurate batching.
  • Pre-scale and prepare ingredients, premixes, and manually scaled items.
  • Verify formulas, weights, and labeling for production compliance.
  • Adjust formulas to maintain product quality and reduce waste.
  • Monitor and control temperature and consistency.
  • Complete batch schedules, inspections, and production records.
  • Perform GMP safety checks.
  • Make and document quality decisions during mixes.
  • Participate in safety, continuous improvement, and GMP meetings.
  • Assist with cleaning, safe chemical handling, and general labor as needed.
  • Report malfunctions and work with maintenance or supervisors for solutions.
  • Foster safety, accountability, and continuous improvement in the workplace.

Machine Operator Batcher

Location: Niles, IL

As a Batcher, you’ll prepare and mix ingredients accurately, verify formulas, monitor quality, and help keep our production plant running smoothly. Your focus and dedication will help us maintain our high standards for quality and innovation.

Shift: 2nd Shift (Mon-Thur, 4:00 PM?–?2:30 AM)

Pay: $22/hr

Type: Temp-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate mixers, scales, timers, and systems for accurate batching
  • Pre-scale and prepare ingredients, premixes, and manually scaled items
  • Verify formulas, weights, and labeling for production compliance

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods, climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 55 lbs
  • Work in noisy environments with PPE
  • Comfortable with temperature fluctuations, humidity, and exposure to bakery ingredients
  • Ability to work multi-shift and handle equipment/materials safely
