Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. in Dallas, TX is hiring full-time Material Handler/Operator roles. Positions start at $17.70–$18.45 per hour with a shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Hours are 2:45 PM to 11:30 PM or until finish, Monday through Friday with some weekends, as part of a team handling production and safety compliance. Role involves operating machinery, setting up work areas, performing quality checks, and possibly forklift operation.

• Must be willing to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and maintain production flow with a safe work environment.
• Operate touch illustrated control panels and safety switches; perform minor adjustments.
• Set up and tear down area at start/end of processing; perform housekeeping duties.
• May operate forklift; ensure compliance with safety, GMP and SQF requirements.
• Read/write on-the-job paperwork and communicate across management levels; use SAP where applicable.

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY: Operator Role - Full-Time - Dallas, TX

These positions start at $17.70 or $18.45/HR with a shift differential for 2nd shift & 3rd shift.

Hours : 2:45 pm until 11:30 or until finish, Monday thru Friday with some weekends

This position is responsible for operating machinery including ongoing production flow while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Operator Roles may include Blade Sharpener, Block Grinder Operator, Box Machine Operator, CEM Operator, CookHouse Operator, CVP Machine Operator, Dry Room Operator, Final Grinder Operator, Fresh Grinder Operator, Frozen Frinder Operator, Lowerator Operator, Machine Operator, Mixer Operator, Peeler Operator, Scaler, Spice Room Operator and Stuffer Machine Operator.

• Required to operate touch illustrated operating panel, safety switches.
• Small mechanical adjustments.
• Use handheld scanner.
• Visually inspect products for any deficiencies.
• Required to set up and tear down area at the beginning and end of processing.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
• May need to operate forklift, if applicable
• Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF Requirements.
• May use SAP if transferred /rotated.
• Proficiency in reading and writing ; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels
• Computer skills (if applicable).
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to solve simple math.
• Lock out Training is required.
• Must be willing and able to become Forklift Certified (if applicable).
• Must be willing and able to take and pass various tests regarding safety and food safety practices.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
• Must be willing and able to perform all positions of rotation, if applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be willing and able to lift and carry 5-35lbs continuously, and hold 35 lbs. – 77lbs occasionally
• Must be willing and able to push and pull rack on rail system ranging from 65lbs up to 1600lbs.
• Must be willing and able to push/pull/lift with arms above shoulder level up to 77lbs with assistance
• Must be willing and able to perform repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms, and hands with up to 50 repetitions per minute.
• Must be willing and able to visually inspect product.
• Must be willing and able to work with different spices and meats. (Pork, Chicken & Beef)
• Must be willing and able to work in cold and damp environments (22-40°F temperatures) for 8-10 hours per day.
• Must be willing and able to stand on hard surface for up to 10 hours per day.
• Must be willing and able to bend, crouch, and stoop throughout the day.
• Must be willing and able to reach high and low levels, frequently.
• Must be willing and able to work with both hands and arms simultaneously throughout the day.
• Must be willing and able to use hands, fingers, and wrists to grasp, pull, and flex.
• Must be willing and able to climb step ladders and/or stairs.
