Job description

Machine Operator - 4th Shift
Shift Schedule: 6am-6pm (SUN-FRI-SAT)
Base Pay: *** 12% Shift Differential of ***hr

Pre-screen questions:

NOTE:
Work 36 hours, get paid for 40 hours. Hourly rate is increased 12% to make up for the 4 hour difference.

4th shift employees are paid according to the following work rules:
- No meal deductions; they are paid for all hours worked.
- No daily OT.
- Weekly OT after 40 hours.
- All worked regular hours receive 12% shift differential.
- All worked OT hours receive 18% shift differential.

Payroll week runs Sunday thru Saturday. This reflects shift hours to be broken up within pay weeks.

Primary Purpose:
Uses machines and equipment to assist with manufacturing, while performing specialized tasks to create and produce a standard or customized product.

Major Job Responsibilities:

1. Performs typical machine shop and press operations.
2. Operates a press production, braid winding, lathe or crimping machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
3. Reads, interprets and follows basic blueprints, diagrams, manufacturing drawings, bills of material or other written instructions or procedures.
4. Accurately records the number of parts produced, both good and scrap.
5. Utilizes hand tools such as a handheld screwdriver and drill guns.
6. Maintains inventory of product in work stations.
7. Performs quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
8. Identifies product defects and reports them.
9. Operates functional area equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
10. Maintains safety, quality, productivity and housekeeping standards as required.
11. Maintains accurate and timely data.
12. Reports any safety problems, hazards, accidents and near misses to management.
13. Adjusts machine settings as necessary to complete assigned tasks.
14. Properly uses safety equipment, including machine guarding, interlocks and safety curtains, and reports issues.
15. Able to troubleshoot and resolve simple quality product issues.
16. Meets standards and tolerances.
17. Other job tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

Physical Demands:

1. Regularly lift up to 30 pounds.
2. Perform repetitive tasks.
3. Possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together accurately.
4. Understanding MSDS and handling of hazardous materials.
5. Work alone or in a team environment.
6. Regular good attendance is an essential function of the job.
7. Ability to stand, sit, stoop or bend, reach above shoulders up to 25% of time.
