Machine Operator - Lincoln

Schedules
  1. 1st shift: 7am-3:30pm (MON-FRI)
  2. 2nd shift: 3pm - 11:30pm (MON-FRI)
  3. 3rd Shift: 11pm - 7:30am (MON-SAT)
  4. 4th shift: 6am-6pm (FRI-SAT-SUN)
Primary Purpose

Uses machines and equipment to assist with manufacturing, while performing specialized tasks to create and produce a standard or customized product.

Major Job Responsibilities
  1. Performs typical machine shop and press operations.
  2. Operates a press production, braid winding, lathe or crimping machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  3. Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, manufacturing drawings, bills of material or other written instructions or procedures.
  4. Accurately record number of parts produced both good and scrap.
  5. Utilize hand tools such as a hand-held screwdriver and drill guns.
  6. Maintain inventory of product in work stations.
  7. Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  8. Identify product defects and report them.
  9. Operate functional area equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  10. Maintain safety, quality, productivity and housekeeping standards as required.
  11. Maintain accurate and timely data.
  12. Report any safety problems, hazards, accidents and near misses to management.
  13. Adjust machine settings as necessary to complete assigned tasks.
  14. Properly use safety equipment, including machine guarding, interlocks and safety curtains, and report if they are not working properly.
  15. Able to troubleshoot and resolve simple quality product issues.
  16. Meet standards and tolerances.
  17. Other job tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
Physical Demands
  1. Regularly lift up to 30 pounds.
  2. Perform repetitive tasks.
  3. Possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together accurately.
  4. Understanding MSDS and handling of hazardous materials.
  5. Work alone or in a team environment.
  6. Regular good attendance is an essential function of the job.
  7. Ability to stand, sit, stoop or bend, reach above shoulders up to 25% of time.

  1. Constant Noise.

  5. Hearing (aid permitted).
Education and Training Requirements
  1. Ability to read and interpret tape measure or measuring devices.
  2. Machine Operator experience preferred.
  3. Basic reading skills.
  4. Basic math skills.
  5. Must be able to speak and understand English.
  6. Ability to follow directions.
  7. Ability to use basic hand tools.
  8. Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems.
