O'Neal Steel currently has an opening for a 3rd Shift Machine Operator at our Birmingham facility.

The Machine Operator sets up and operates production machines according to established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position, and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate various processing equipment such as fiber laser, saw, shear, press brake, roller, plasma, etc.
• Operate a variety of material handling equipment including forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, side loader, yard dog, etc.
• Read and interpret simple blueprints.
• Use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper, and micrometer.
• Convert fractions to decimals and vice versa; perform addition and subtraction with fractions and decimals.
• Ensure high-quality work output for internal and external customers.

Must be able to work the 3rd Shift (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM, Sunday - Thursday). Overtime may be required as needed.

Candidates must pass a criminal background check and drug test upon employment offer.
