Job description

O'Neal Steel currently has an opening for a (3rd Shift) Machine Operator at our Birmingham facility.

Job Description

The Machine Operator sets up and operates production machines according to established procedures and guidelines. Utilizes computer-controlled equipment to select, position, and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to ensure tasks are completed accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

1. Operate various processing equipment such as fiber laser, saw, shear, press brake, roller, plasma, etc.
2. Operate material handling equipment including forklift, overhead crane, stacker crane, side loader, yard dog, etc.
3. Read and interpret simple blueprints.
4. Use measuring tools like tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper, and micrometer.
5. Convert between fractions and decimals, perform addition and subtraction in both.
6. Provide high-quality work to internal and external customers related to your output.
7. Work the 3rd Shift (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM), Sunday through Thursday, with overtime as needed.
8. Pass a criminal background check and drug test upon employment offer.
