Job summary

Arch Precision, LLC is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator for 3rd shift (Mon-Thurs 7:30pm-6:00am) and Weekend shift (Fri-Sun 5:30am-6:00pm) to ensure precise production and quality control. The role requires reading blueprints, setting up tools, and performing hourly inspections to meet specifications.

Responsibilities include adjusting machine controls, selecting tools, maintaining measurement instruments, and collaborating with supervision to resolve issues while upholding safety and 5S

Responsibilities

• Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications using preset gauges and indicators.
• Document hourly inspections for production quality.
• Preset and change cutting tools to meet production requirements.
• Adjust machine controls to maintain tolerances.
• Set up fixtures or feeding devices and start machines.
• Monitor lubricants and coolants per machine manual.
• Resolve machine malfunctions with supervisor approval.
• Study blueprints and work orders to follow proper setup sequences.
• Select and secure tools and workpieces in proper locations.
• Maintain machines per operating manuals and perform routine care.
• Analyze and diagnose machine/tooling issues and mitigate downtime.
• Promote safety and 5S practices across the plant.
• Mentor teammates in safety, quality and productivity improvements.

Essential Machine Operator Job Functions

Essential Machine Operator Job Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Verifies conformance of work pieces to specifications, using preset gauges, micrometers and dial indicators
• Document hourly inspections for conforming production of product.
• Presets and changes cutting tools and tool holders to maintain production requirements.
• Adjusts machine controls and changes tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
• Sets up fixture or feeding device, starts machine and engages feed.
• Observes Lubricants and Coolants to ensure they meet specifications as defined in machine manual.
• Confers with supervisor to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors and obtains approval to continue production
• Sets up and operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
• Studies blueprints, work orders, and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed.
• Selects, places, and secures tools.
• Places and secures workpieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.
• Prepares fixtures and feeding devices, starts machine, and engages feed.
• Observes each machine to verify quality performance.
• Verifies measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers are in proper working order.
• Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines.
• Sharpens tools with bench grinder as needed.
• Maintains machines per machine operating and maintenance manuals.
• Analyze and diagnose machine and tooling problems and take corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules
• Achieve highest safety levels in the plant
• Employ 5S to all functions within the plant
• Mentor and motivate team in safety, quality and productivity improvements
