Job summary

Luxfer Cylinders in Riverside, CA is seeking a Machine Operator on the 3rd shift (9:30pm-6am or 10:30pm-7am) to operate and monitor production equipment. You will follow SOPs, perform setup, adjust machines, inspect parts, and maintain a clean 5S work area.

The role requires safety compliance, ability to stand for long periods, and willingness to work OT when needed. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and 1 year manufacturing experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Participate in Luxfer’s culture of safety by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Wear all required PPE as described.
• Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down machines safely without supervision according to SOP for the work center.
• Load unfinished parts into machines and remove finished parts safely.
• Monitor machine operation to ensure consistent performance and product quality.
• Check part quality using designated measurement instruments; understand when to stop the machine safely if issues arise.
• Perform routine set-up, periodic checks, and minor troubleshooting as required.
• Operate sanding tools and additional equipment to support the manufacturing process.
• Make necessary adjustments to machines to optimize performance and improve results.
• Produce high-quality parts according to manufacturing targets, schedules, and specifications.
• Assume responsibility for ensuring that all duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner.
• Keep a clean and orderly work area, adhering to 5S standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED Preferred.

• Able to pass a Drug Test

Machine Operators are required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods, and to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate tools, equipment, or materials in repetitive tasks. The role frequently requires lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 25 pounds continuously. Occasionally moving equipment or parts up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work is performed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical hazards, and moderate-to-loud noise levels. Employees must consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear protection, with additional PPE (such as gloves or a hard hat) required as appropriate by department or task.
