Job summary

Haworth in Holland, MI is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift (3:00pm–1:30am, Mon–Thu; OT Fri 3:00pm–11:00pm; no weekends unless volunteer). You will operate production machinery to complete customer orders and support daily production schedules in the wood plant.

Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Machine Operator to join our team in the wood plant in Holland, MI on 2nd shift.

• 2nd shift schedule is from 3:00pm-1:30am, Monday-Thursday. OT schedule is on Fridays from 3:00pm-11:00pm. No Saturdays or Sundays (unless you volunteer)!

As aMachine Operator, you will:

• Operateassigned production machinery in accordance with company standards to complete customer orders.

Required Qualifications

• The ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance
• Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship
• 8th grade education or higher
• The ability to lift items weighing up to 50lbs without assistance
• 2 years of prior manufacturing experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck (hilo) certification
• Ability to flex work schedule and overtime may be required including weekends and/or holidays per business demands

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to troubleshoot machines
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments, such as gauges and tape measures

Essential Functions

• Accesses electronic production system to determine daily schedule.
• Verifies parts received against pick tickets for accurate counts, colors, part numbers, and packaging. Monitors material flow and updates electronic production system accordingly.
• Selects the appropriate machine settings or program according to specifications.
• Sets up and operates machine. Makes minor machine adjustments. May make simple repairs.
• Provides change-overs (adjusts tooling or tolerances, selects programs, etc.).
• Investigates & documents production nonconformance issues.
• May be required to operate a powered industrial truck and/or overhead lift system.
• Rotates through department work centers based on business need.
• Works overtime as needed.
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
