Job summary

Power Solutions International (PSI) is seeking a Machining Team Member to prepare and machine engine blocks and heads in conformity with drawings and work instructions. Reporting to the Machining Team Lead, you will contribute to high-quality, precision components in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

The role requires CNC operation experience, reading engineering drawings, and proficiency with precision measurement tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; ability to read and comprehend technical guidance.
• NIMS or equivalent certification; may substitute for direct experience.
• Experience with CNC machining and reading engineering drawings.
• Ability to convert metric and English measurements.
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers, and hand tools.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to perform precision machining.
• Verify parts conform to drawings and quality standards.
• Follow procedures for tool setup, process verification, and inspection.
• Perform general machine maintenance.
• Lift up to 40 pounds; assist with heavier items as needed.
• Adhere to safety procedures and PPE usage.
• All other duties as assigned by management.

Pay Rate: $22.00 / hour + overtime

Position Summary

Reporting to the Machining Team Lead, the Machining Team Member is responsible for the preparation and machining of (engine) blocks and heads in conformance with engineering drawings, standardized work instructions and quality standards

Essential Responsibilities

• Operate Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machines to ensure precision machining operations
• Monitor and verify finished parts conform to engineering drawings and quality standards per the Control Plan
• Ensure that standard procedures are followed in all aspects of work including tool setup and operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation, and material handling
• Perform general machine maintenance per Daily Maintenance Checklists
• As needed, lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds of materials to assist in production. Learn and execute team lifts for items over 40 pounds
• Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment and ergonomic devices and lift assists, navigating the plant with alert behavior, operating power tools and machines according to instructions, and disposing of waste properly
• All other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience including the ability to apply math (fractions, ratios, measurements) and to read, comprehend, and convert instruction manuals/diagrams
• National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) or equivalent certification; may substitute for the certificate direct applicable work experience which built competencies and subject matter expertise
• Demonstrated proficiency in CNC Machining, automotive assembly, and/or high-volume manufacturing; may substitute for the certificate direct applicable work experience which built competencies and subject matter expertise
• Working knowledge of Metric and English measurement systems with the ability to perform conversions
• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, attribute/variable gages, and hand tools
• Experience using or knowledge of Lean manufacturing preferred
