Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America is seeking a production operator to set up and run machinery such as flexo folder gluers and rotary die cutters. You will lead training for crew members, monitor productivity and quality, and ensure accurate production data entry daily.

The role requires 2+ years in a factory setting, strong troubleshooting and safety skills, and good communication. Some experience with Flexo Folder Gluer/Rotary Die Cutter is a plus; U.S. work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a factory setting.
• Strong knowledge in troubleshooting machinery.
• Strong safety background, good attendance record, and excellent communication skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• 6 months of packaging or printing experience in Flexo Folder Gluer/Rotary Die Cutter is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Starting wage of $15.56 with possible bump up to top wage of $22.01 after a 2-week evaluation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for all phases of setting up and operating machinery (flexo folder gluer, rotary die cutter).
• Operator is also responsible for productivity, quality, and waste.
• Set up, operate, and monitor machines.
• Act as the leader for the crew in training process.
• Mount printing and cutting dies to cylinder/shaft.
• Mix and adjust ink viscosity.
• Perform multiple quality checks on each order.
• Verify material based on customer requirements, prior to running.
• Work with team to meet daily goals.
• Accurately record production data into computer daily.
• Perform routing preventive maintenance and housekeeping.
• Follow all process and procedures in place with safety rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years’ experience in a factory setting.
• Strong knowledge in troubleshooting machinery.
• 6 months of packaging or printing experience in Flexo Folder Gluer/Rotary Die Cutter is preferred, but not required.
• Strong safety background, good attendance record, and excellent communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
