Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

The Trident Company has an opening for a Machine Operator - 2nd Shift in Tulsa, OK.

The Machine Operator performs advanced production activities requiring a demonstrated high level of skill and proficiency in material handling, production processes, and multiple machine operation acquired through extended experience and training.

The Trident Company is a multi-faceted metals service center providing non-ferrous metals nationally from locations in Texas and Oklahoma.

Job Requirements

  • Positions workpieces for processing
  • Operates a combination of different machines to process work by cutting, burning, sawing, blasting, shearing, punching, grinding, bending, or pressing
  • Uses gauges, calipers, squares, or rulers for measurement
  • Determines processing specifications such as materials, cutting tools, location of cutting lines, dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences by reviewing blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions, or other written specifications
  • Installs and aligns specified punches, cutting blades, or other fixtures in machine bed using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, or hand tools
  • Adjusts controls to set cutting speed, depth, and feed rates; diagnoses problems and makes necessary adjustments
  • Performs quality control inspections on finished products; for ISO-certified locations, performs in-process quality inspections
  • Coordinates and executes material handling of all inventories to be processed, including operation of overhead crane
  • Performs limited preventative maintenance, such as lubrication, cleaning, and changing of parts
  • May train less experienced workers and perform as lead in the absence of a group leader
  • May mark identification on materials or workpieces before processing
  • May mark material after processing; store material for additional processing and/or shipping
  • Restocks material
  • Completes work order paperwork and documentation
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to measure with tape and convert between English and Metric systems
  • Ability to calculate and convert decimals and fractions
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating multiple machines
  • Experience operating overhead cranes
  • Candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screening
