ThyssenKrupp Materials NA, Inc. in Smithfield, RI is hiring an Experienced Machine Operator for 2nd shift to set up and run production equipment, inspect materials, and verify that all orders meet specifications.

You will read work orders, perform basic math, use calipers and scales, operate cranes or forklifts safely, and help maintain a clean, safe work area. The role includes potential supervisory exposure and a clear path for growth.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment and machinery per work orders.
• Perform machine setups and inspect products for specifications.
• Record measurements and ensure accuracy of inspections.
• Identify and segregate scrap and non-conforming materials.
• Maintain clean and safe work area and assist with preventive maintenance.
• Provide input on process improvements and train new staff as needed.

Machine Operation & Quality Control:Pull, inspect, and verify products before processing.Perform machine setups according to work order specifications.Ensure products meet specifications, record measurements, and follow written work instructions.Communicate with sales representatives regarding order adjustments or clarifications.Identify, record, and segregate scrap and non-conforming materials. Maintenance & Safety:Perform equipment preventive maintenance and general cleanup.Maintain all measurement equipment in working condition.Properly operate weighing scales and record inspection measurements.Follow all safety guidelines to ensure a secure work environment.
