Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a 2nd shift manufacturing operator in Monticello, IA. You will set up and operate heavy machinery, read blueprints and specifications, and ensure the production of quality building parts while adhering to safety rules. The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED, and 3 years in a high production environment.

Lifting up to 50 pounds is required. Shift runs 3:15 pm to 1:45 am. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, holidays, 401k and more.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in a high production manufacturing environment.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications and other technical data.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and gauges for cutting, punching, forming, blocking and processing.
• Produce quality building parts in line with specifications and techniques.
• Follow safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Operate computerized equipment and material handling tools.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and lubrication as required.
• Mark parts with numbers and attach IDs so customers can locate parts.

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $20 per hourplus $1.00 per hour shift differential

2nd Shift: 3:15 pm - 1:45am

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations
• Knowledge of production techniques and have the ability to produce quality-building parts
• Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment
• Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation
• Mark part number, order number, number of pieces on parts. Attach identification tags as required for customer to have the ability to locate correct parts
• Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area
• Repetitive material handling. Some in awkward body positioning
• Repetitive climbing on and off of equipment and ladders
• Varying and extreme working conditions inside and outside (Hot, Cold, Rain, Shine)

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in high production manufacturing environment
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, andother technical data and select correct raw material or semi-finished parts
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
