Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a manufacturing associate on the 1st shift to set up and operate heavy machinery, perform cutting and forming operations, and ensure quality parts. The role requires reading blueprints, following safety rules, and using computerized equipment.

The job involves repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds, working in a non-air conditioned facility, and potential physical demands as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills including fractions and measurements.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications and other technical documents.
• Strong safety awareness for manufacturing environments.
• Physically capable of repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges for cutting, punching, forming, and processing operations.
• Produce quality-building parts following production techniques.
• Follow safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment as needed.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment.

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $19-$22 per hour

1st Shift: 5:00 am - 1:30 pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, and processing operations
• Knowledge of production techniques and have the ability to produce quality-building parts
• Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment
• Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation
• Mark part number, order number, number of pieces on parts. Attach identification tags as required for customer to have the ability to locate correct parts
• Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area
• Repetitive material handling. Some in awkward body positioning
• Repetitive climbing on and off of equipment and ladders
• Varying working conditions inside a non-air conditioned facitliy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment preferred, but not required.

• Basic math skills, including fractions, measurements, and simple equations.

• Ability to read a tape measure accurately and interpret measurements.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents to identify and select the correct raw materials or semi-finished parts.

• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds from below the waist to above shoulder height as required by the job.
