Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a skilled operator for the Monticello, IA area to set up and run heavy machinery, read blueprints, and ensure quality building parts. The role requires 3+ years in high-volume manufacturing, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and adherence to safety rules.

Expect use of computerized equipment and routine preventive maintenance, with opportunities for continuous improvement. The position is on 1st shift (5:00 am - 1:30 pm) with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in high production manufacturing environment.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical data and select correct raw material or semi-finished parts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical data and select correct raw material or semi-finished parts.
• Follow all safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and tools.
• Mark part numbers and identifiers for traceability.
• Support continuous improvement practices in the work area.
• Handle repetitive material lifting and awkward body positioning.
• Climb on and off equipment and ladders as needed.
• Work under varying and extreme conditions (hot, cold, rain, shine).

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $20 per hour

1st Shift: 5:00 am - 1:30 pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations
• Knowledge of production techniques and have the ability to produce quality-building parts
• Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment
• Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation
• Mark part number, order number, number of pieces on parts. Attach identification tags as required for customer to have the ability to locate correct parts
• Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area
• Repetitive material handling. Some in awkward body positioning
• Repetitive climbing on and off of equipment and ladders
• Varying and extreme working conditions inside and outside (Hot, Cold, Rain, Shine)

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED equivalent

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in high production manufacturing environment
