Job summary

Americhem in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift. The role entails operating and tending compounding/mixing equipment, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring quality in a fast-paced production environment.

Full-time, non-exempt position with comprehensive benefits and a 2:00 PM–12:00 AM shift. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years in manufacturing, plus mechanical aptitude, reliability, and strong math skills.

Responsibilities

• Holds safety in highest regard by making good safety decisions, following safety procedures, watching out for the safety of self and others, contributing to safety improvements, and participating in safety programs.
• Produce compound samples according to specifications by using production equipment, devices, and instruments (extruders, scales, feeders, classifiers, pelletizers, dies, visual display units, dials, and calibrators).
• Keeps machinery and mechanical equipment operational by performing preventative maintenance tasks on machine and equipment.
• The Operator adds color mix to the feeder by using a tow motor/forklift to lift the color pot up to the platform and setting it in the proper slot.

• 1-2 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing/production, strongly preferred
