Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Elizabethton, TN is seeking a full-time Machine Operator in the Coldform department. Base pay starts at $16.25 per hour with a $1.50 shift premium after dayshift training, on 2nd shift, with overtime opportunities.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year in manufacturing, and be comfortable with forklifts, overhead cranes, power tools, and reading manuals.

• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience is a plus.
• Comfort with power hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and manuals.
• Team-oriented with safety and quality focus.

• Operate machine in the coldform department with attention to safety and quality.
• Read and comprehend policy manuals, safety rules, and operation instructions.
• Communicate information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Follow work instructions and solve problems with multiple variables.
• Meet deadlines and collaborate with a diverse workforce.
• Cross-train and be promotable; operate forklift/overhead crane as trained.

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $16.25 per hour with $1.50 shift premium after dayshift training and put on 2nd shift

Shift: 5:00 pm - 3:30 Am with opportunities for Overtime

Duties and Responsibilities

• This position is for a machine Operator in coldform department. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of production techniques, great attention to detail, and a dedication to safety. Overtime is anticipated with this full-time, direct hire opportunity.
• Ability to read and comprehend documents including but not limited to policy manuals, safety rules/programs, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and simple correspondence
• In addition, the ability to communicate information effectively one-on-one and in small group situations and settings is required
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to perform work instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form a must. In addition, the ability to solve problems, which involve multiple variables in a standard situation, is required
• Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
• Ability to work with a diversified work force
• Be willing to cross train and be promotable

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

A minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment

Experience with forklift and/or overhead crane operation a plus

Comfort and familiarity with power hand tools

Willingness to train, certify, and operate forklift and overhead crane

Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

General mathematical knowledge and proficiency with basic measuring instruments

Understand tape measure and be able to read to ensure quality product is made
