Job Description
Job Summary

This position will independently set-up, operate, and troubleshoot one machine/equipment (slitting, cut-to-length, or roll-former).

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set-up, thread the material through, and operate independently one machine (slitting, cut-to-length, or roll-former).
  • Follow daily manufacturing work orders, paying attention to various materials, and record specific notations as needed.
  • Assist with the operation of other machinery under close supervision.
  • Support packaging operations and perform related tasks as needed.
  • Band and palletize metal coils and/or sheets, and label finished products.
  • Conduct quality checks to verify dimensions and weights using proper tools.
  • Achieve production goals while adhering to safety standards.
  • Mount and adjust slitter knives, spaces, and guide discs for different coil widths, including adjusting clearances and gapping.
  • Adjust machinery based on observation and monitoring feedback, and perform quality control.
  • Follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and daily inspections.
  • Maintain an orderly work area.
Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge
  • Motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely; training provided if necessary; forklift certification required.
  • Demonstrate safe working practices and attention to detail.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Basic computer, math, and problem-solving skills; ability to use calculators and measuring devices.

Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature variations, dust, noise, and mechanical hazards.
  • Hours: 40 hours/week, 2nd shift, 4x10s schedule.
  • Overtime and weekend hours may be required.
Travel Requirement
  • No travel required.

  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, climbing, walking, standing, sitting, working in extreme temperatures, repetitive motions, vision, hearing, dexterity, hand-eye coordination.
