Job Description
The Royal Group, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking Machine Operators (2nd & 3rd Shift) to support our Cicero, IL facility. The Machine Operator is responsible for all activities associated with running the machine, including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Essential Job Functions
- Setup machine accurately according to proper setup techniques.
- Monitor quality, including loose liner, warp, correct size, and print.
- Cross-train on other machines and switch duties as needed.
- Submit maintenance work orders for repairs and proactively maintain equipment.
- Operate the machine to meet quality and production expectations.
- Maximize equipment utilization by operating at available capacity and speed.
- Practice safe work habits at all times.
- Recommend ways to optimize the production schedule to meet cost, quality, and service goals.
- Assist and train helpers or assistants at the machine.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping.
- Work overtime as required by the business.
- Troubleshoot machine issues to minimize downtime and material waste.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Be flexible to work on different machines and crews.
- Adapt to new technology and learning opportunities.
- Be punctual for scheduled workdays.
- Show strong willingness for growth and personal development.
Required Education / Experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- Manufacturing trade certification is a plus but not required.
Preferred Education / Experience
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred. Corrugated packaging experience is a plus but not required.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Ability to perform basic math operations in all units of measure.
- Proficiency with a tape measure and computer use.
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions, memos, and correspondence in English.
- Effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions.
- Apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Problem-solving skills involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Preferred: experience with manufacturing processes and corrugated materials.
