Job summary

ABB in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Production Operator to operate rubber injection molding machines and oversee the production of molded components. You will follow SOPs, maintain quality, and work within lean 5S and safety standards.

This role reports to the Production Supervisor and requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for long periods, and work overtime or weekends as needed. Strong English communication and basic math skills are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate rubber injection molding machines to fabricate rubber components and ensure quality production.
• Maintain accurate production records and follow standard operating procedures.
• Comply with safety policies and Lean 5S practices.
• Monitor process quality through checks and controls; manage units and final products.
• Assist with shift handovers and document necessary information.

This position reports to:

Production Supervisor

Operate rubber injection molding machines to fabricate rubber components. Responsible for the production of molded products.

Safety

• Understands and follows plant safety and procedures.
• Avoids or prevents hazardous conditions from developing.
• Wear appropriate protective equipment as required, dress and conducts self in a safe manner.
• Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains Lean 5S.
• Participates in plant safety objectives.

Job Functions

• Demonstrate ABB's core values and group safety and integrity standards and act accordingly.
• Implement and ensure compliance with the ABB code of conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies, and processes in their assigned areas.
• Understand and follow plant safety and procedures.
• Responsible for all aspects of molding operations, i.e., work instructions, standard operating procedures, and revision control
• Ensure quality operation of the process, perform quality checks and controls, including adherence to cleaning and maintenance.
• Maintain pre-determined efficiency, standards, and productivity rates.
• Prepare and maintain accurate production records and follow standard operating procedures.
• Keep track of approved, defective units and final product
• Ensure shift change is completed forms are completed with accurate and appropriate information.
• Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs

Education And Experience

• High School diploma/GED is required
• Prior manufacturing experience or quality control experience Preferred
• Ability to lift to 40lbs and perform push/pull functions
• Can work overtime to meet Business Objectives
• Can work a weekend schedule as needed.
