Job summary

MillenniumSoft Inc in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a Machine Operator 2 for a 12-month contract. You will set up and operate Citizen Swiss style lathes to produce metal parts within tight tolerances and read blueprints.

The shift runs Monday-Thursday 5:00am–3:30pm with potential overtime on Fridays; start time 5:00am and end time 3:30pm; total 40 hours per week. Apprenticeship or equivalent training preferred; CNC milling experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years related work experience and/or training required.
• Experience with CNC Swiss style lathes or CNC Milling.

Responsibilities

• The Machine Operator 2 sets up and operates Citizen Swiss style lathes to make metal parts within tolerances.
• Interprets blueprints and engineering specs to determine operation sequence, tooling, feeds and speeds; uses hand tools and precision measuring devices.
• Monitors quality and may verify with SPC or other control procedures; ensures correct materials and parts are used.
• Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

Description

• The Machine Operator 2 sets up and operates a variety of Citizen Swiss style lathes to make metal parts to exacting tolerances and dimensions.


• Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required.


• Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.


• Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
