Job summary

The Gund Company in Waukesha, Wisconsin, is seeking a full-time Machine Operator for the 1st shift (6:30am - 3:00pm, M-F). The role involves operating presses and other equipment to manufacture thermoset composite materials, with an emphasis on safety and quality.

Duties include setting up tooling, selecting components, performing in-process inspections, and maintaining dies and molds. A High School Diploma or GED is required, prior manufacturing experience is preferred; PTO, benefits, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with prior hands-on, vocational or job-related coursework/training, or any similar combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with mixing, batching or compounding equipment is preferred.
• The role requires ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods, and operate with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture molded glass polyester sheets.
• Select and install machine components such as dies, spacers, shims and stops according to specifications.
• Trim/file and de-flash molded sheet edges and perform in-process measuring and material inspections.
• Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Clean dies and molds using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads or air hoses.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Summary Machine Operator

As a Machine Operator, you will play a key role in the steps related to the manufacture of thermoset composite materials by operating manufacturing equipment that includes presses, forming, extrusion, pultrusion and/or shape machines. Duties also involve manual work and duties that require the use of various hand tools and secondary/accessory equipment.
