Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring a Machine Operator I to set up and operate heavy machinery for cutting, punching, forming, and processing parts. The role requires following safety rules, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality output in a manufacturing environment.

The position runs 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with pay rate $16.00–$16.50 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, holidays, 401(k), and more, starting day one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly.
• Mobility and prolonged standing required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery for cutting, punching, forming, and processing operations.
• Follow safety rules and work around manufacturing environments.
• Operate computerized equipment and material handling tools.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and lubrication on equipment.
• Mark part numbers and identify pieces for customers.
• Interpret blueprints and specifications to select materials.
• Support continuous improvement in the work area.
• Tackle additional projects as assigned by Team Leader.

JOB DETAILS

Pay Rate: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour

Shift:6:30 AM to 3:00 PM - Monday - Friday

Duties and Responsibilities

The Machine Operator I is responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to performvarious cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. They must have thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality-building parts.

• Understands and follows safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturingenvironment
• Ability to set-up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form, or paint quality finished or semifinishedparts
• Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment
• Performs routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation
• Marks part numbers, order numbers, and the number of pieces on parts
• Attaches identification tags asrequired for customer to have the ability locate correct parts
• Interprets blueprints, specifications, and other technical data to select the correct raw material or semifinishedparts
• Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area
• May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Mobility – Prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, bending, etc.
• Exposure – Moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non-climate-controlled environment
• To perform satisfactorily in this position, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
