Job summary

Wieland is seeking a Machine Operator in Verona, VA, to produce parts from shop drawings and CNC programs, following procedures and instructions. The role involves operating CNC machinery and ensuring quality compliance in a on-site setting.

The position offers a starting hourly pay of $26.50–$29.50, with pay adjusted based on experience and qualifications, and a first shift (Mon-Thu 6:00am-4:30pm). Growth and comprehensive benefits are provided by Wieland.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–5 years' experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Arm/hand steadiness and manual dexterity.
• Able to stand, kneel, bend, and reach.
• Good vision (color/ depth) and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, BOMs, routing sheets, and work instructions.
• Work with ferrous, non-ferrous and alloy materials.
• Program equipment by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation.
• Set up equipment by installing and adjusting tools and components.
• Monitor and troubleshoot equipment, adjust and/or program controls.
• Maintain records of work performed.

Wieland is hiring a Machine Operator. The Machine Operator will be responsible for working from shop drawing, procedures and/or other written, verbal, or electronic instruction, perform a wide variety of operations. Produces parts by programming, setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. This role is located in Verona, VA and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $26.50 - $29.50 per hour, with compensation adjusted based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule: 1st Shift (Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm)

Responsibilities

• Plans machining by reading, interpreting, understanding, and working from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, labor summaries and other written, electronic, or verbal instruction.
• Work with a variety of ferrous, non-ferrous and alloy materials.
• Programs equipment by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation.
• Sets up equipment by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, heads, etc.
• Maintains specifications by observing, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting, adjust and/or programming controls.
• Maintains equipment by completing operator maintenance requirements, following manufacturers and/or company instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and/or calling for repairs.
• Maintain required records in either written or electronic form.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
• 3 to 5 years' previous experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Arm/hand steadiness
• Manual Dexterity
• Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching
• Close vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and hand-eye coordination.
