Job summary

Wieland in Montpelier, OH is seeking a Machine Operator 1 to safely run forging and machining equipment and produce parts per the production schedule. The role requires reading drawings, attention to detail, and strong safety practices aligned with ISO 9001 and NSF standards.

You’ll support setup, quality checks, and timely completion of jobs on a fully on-site team. Starting pay is $24.51 per hour plus a $0.30 shift differential, with a Mon-Wed 6pm-6am or Mon-Thu 6pm-6am schedule and weekly

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years operating machinery.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to read drawings.
• Capable of operating a forklift with training provided.
• Able to lift 30 pounds and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

Wieland is hiring a Machine Operator 1. This person will be responsible for working safely while operating equipment in the forging and machining production areas. Produce parts to the production schedule while following safety, operating and quality guidelines and instructions.

This role is located in Montpelier, OH and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $24.51 + .30 shift differential

Schedule: Mon -Wed 6pm-6am, Mon-Thur 6pm-6am

Pay Schedule: Weekly

Responsibilities

Machine Operator 1 Responsibilities:

• Work safely and promote the safety of those working around you; help build a proactive safety culture
• Meet Forgeworks' customers' demand by operating the forging, cleaning, and machining equipment including:
  1. Job setup - tool assembly and installation
  2. Running the job following JSWPs and quality processes
  3. Clean up and preparation for the next job
• Meet or exceed the quality expectations of the customer as defined by the Engineering and Quality organizations by following the quality process
  1. Periodic part inspection
  2. Participate in root cause analysis
• Meet or exceed financial targets by achieving operating performance targets such as yield and operating efficiency
• Additional Accountabilities
  1. Read and interpret dimensional layouts when needed
  2. Adhere to ISO 9001 and NSF standards
  3. Perform operator based preventative maintenance.
  4. Shipping, receiving and utility work
  5. Process audits
  6. Sorting product needed for shipment

Machine Operator 1 Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum 2 years' experience operating machinery
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be able to operate a forklift - training provided
• Able to lift 30 pounds
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Ability to read drawings
• Problem solving skills / critical thinker
• Desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing manufacturing processes
