Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. is hiring a Machine Operator at our Verona, VA facility. You will program, set up, and operate CNC equipment, reading blueprints and work orders to produce precise parts.

The role requires 3–5 years in an industrial environment, with strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and solid vision capabilities. Starting pay ranges with shift differential, and a 3rd shift schedule is offered with bi-weekly pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 3 to 5 years’ prior industrial experience preferred.
• Arm/hand steadiness and manual dexterity required.
• Vision capabilities: close, distant, color, depth perception.

Responsibilities

• Plans machining by reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, BOMs, routing sheets and other instructions.
• Works with ferrous, non-ferrous, and alloy materials.
• Programs equipment by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets and compensation.
• Sets up equipment by installing and adjusting tools and heads.
• Maintains specifications by observing, measuring, troubleshooting, and adjusting controls.
• Maintains equipment through routine operator maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Keeps required records in paper or electronic form.

Wieland is hiring a Machine Operator. The Machine Operator will be responsible for working from shop drawing, procedures and/or other written, verbal, or electronic instruction, perform a wide variety of operations. Produces parts by programming, setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Our facility is located at 45 Sutton Road | Verona, VA | 24482.

Starting Pay: $26.50 - $29.50 per hour, with compensation adjusted based on experience and qualifications.

Shift Differential: $1.50/hr.

3rd Shift Schedule: Monday-Thursday 7:30pm-6:00am

• Training Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm (approx. 2-4 weeks)

Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly

Machine Operator Responsibilities:

• Plans machining by reading, interpreting, understanding, and working from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, labor summaries and other written, electronic, or verbal instruction.
• Work with a variety of ferrous, non-ferrous and alloy materials.
• Programs equipment by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation.
• Sets up equipment by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, heads, etc.
• Maintains specifications by observing, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting, adjust and/or programming controls.
• Maintains equipment by completing operator maintenance requirements, following manufacturers and/or company instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and/or calling for repairs.
• Maintain required records in either written or electronic form.

Machine Operator Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
• 3 to 5 years’ previous experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Arm/hand steadiness
• Manual Dexterity
• Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching
• Close vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and hand-eye coordination.
