Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking an Operator I to support production by operating a variety of equipment to produce quality product per provided criteria and work instructions. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain safety, quality, and efficiency on the production floor.

Shift is 1st, Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm. You will perform hands-on tasks, follow all safety policies, log production numbers, and assist with autonomous maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Display great attention to detail.
• 0–1 years of machine operation experience.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and understand provided work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and 6S standards to maintain a safe, clean working environment.
• Identify and elevate potential safety risks on the floor.
• Operate numerous types of equipment, independently or in a team, per work instructions.
• Use electronic devices to reference work instructions, control plans, and log production numbers.
• Perform repetitive tasks to meet delivery, efficiency, and quality metrics.
• Recognize and react to equipment problems; escalate as needed.
• Assist with maintenance and clean equipment as required.

Your Role on Our Team The Operator I supports production by operating a variety of equipment to produce quality product per provided criteria and work instructions. This position is required to cooperate with other cross-functional departments to ensure and maintain part quality, proper procedure execution, a safe and productive work environment, and culture standards. This job description lists major areas of responsibility and additional job activities may be added at any time.

Shift Hours: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

• Follow all safety policies and practice 6S standards to maintain a safe and clean working environment for all employees.
• Identify and elevate potential safety risks on the floor.
• Operate numerous types of equipment, independently or in a team environment, per the work instructions.
• Utilize electronic devices (computer, iPad, etc.) daily to reference work instructions, control plans, visual criteria, in-process quality checks, and accurately log production numbers.
• Perform repetitive tasks as needed and maintain production pace and quality standards as specified by the applicable documentation to meet process metrics such as delivery, efficiency, and quality.
• Recognize and react to problems with equipment, elevate as required.
• Close attention to detail concerning product quality through utilizing visual criteria and elevate issues to appropriate personnel.
• Use fixtures, jigs, and hand tools as necessary to ensure proper position and/or movement of components and parts.
• Ability to work on a raised platform, safely; Work with Machine Set Up Technician to resolve problems with equipment.
• Clean equipment as required to ensure proper operation.
• Conduct Autonomous Maintenance tasks as prescribed.
• Place processed parts into containers and palletize per the work instruction and at specified quantities per the part tag.
• Other duties and projects as determined by business and production needs.
