Job summary

Avery Dennison is seeking a detail-oriented finishing center operator in Niles, IL to ensure products are packed, labeled, and prepared to exact customer specifications. You will work closely with teams to meet quality standards and production targets in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers a 1st shift schedule (5:30am–2:00pm, M-F) with a starting hiring rate of $22.47 per hour. This temp-to-hire position emphasizes teamwork, cross-training on assets, and adherence to SOPs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or 3+ years manufacturing experience.
• Detail-oriented with ability to follow SOPs.
• Collaborative team player able to cross-train on equipment and operate with safety.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, label and package finished rolls to customer specifications and standard practices.
• Inspect products for quality to uphold standards.
• Collaborate across departments to keep production on schedule and materials ready.

In this role, you will ensure our high-quality products are perfectly packed, labeled, and prepared to meet exact customer specifications.

What You Will Do

• Precision Assembly & Packaging: Sort, label, and safely package finished rolls to customer specifications and standard practices.
• Quality Control: Inspect the general appearance of products to protect our high standards, and check your work carefully at every stage.
• Team Collaboration: Partner across departments, track multiple active orders, and keep the production line smoothly supplied.

Continuous Improvement

• Continuous Improvement: Participate in team problem-solving, maintain a clean, organized space, and conduct 5S audits.

Qualifications

What You Bring (Qualifications)

• High School Diploma/GED OR 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and comfort following written standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• A collaborative spirit—you naturally step up to help a coworker succeed for the good of the team.
• Adaptability to learn new software applications (like MFG Pro) and a willingness to cross-train on automated machinery over time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and obtain a Lift Truck Operator’s license.
