Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Monticello, IA is seeking a manufacturing operator to set up and run heavy machinery for cutting, punching, and forming parts. You will follow blueprints, ensure quality parts, and adhere to safety standards in a high-production setting.

The role offers a 1st shift schedule (6:00 am - 3:00 pm) with base pay starting at $19.00 per hour and a full benefits package starting day one, including medical, dental, vision, PTO, holidays, 401k, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in high production manufacturing environment.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical data and select correct raw material or semi-finished parts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations.
• Knowledge of production techniques and have the ability to produce quality-building parts.
• Comply with all safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and tools.
• Mark part numbers and order numbers, attach IDs for traceability.
• Support continuous improvement efforts in the work area.
• Handle repetitive material moves and manage varying body positions.
• Climb on and off equipment and ladders as needed under varying conditions.

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $19.00 per hour

1st Shift: 6:00 am - 3:00 pm

This position sits within our Fortify Building Solutions business, which serves the pre-engineered metal buildings, metal roof and wall systems, and steel building components industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations
• Knowledge of production techniques and have the ability to produce quality-building parts
• Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment
• Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation
• Mark part number, order number, number of pieces on parts. Attach identification tags as required for customer to have the ability to locate correct parts
• Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area
• Repetitive material handling. Some in awkward body positioning
• Repetitive climbing on and off of equipment and ladders
• Varying and extreme working conditions inside and outside (Hot, Cold, Rain, Shine)
