Job summary

TH Foods is seeking a Machine Operator for 1st shift in Loves Park, IL. The role involves setting up, operating, and tending to machines that mix, cook, season, convey and wrap product in a fast-paced food production setting.

You will verify batch sheets, monitor process parameters, and perform quality checks to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Weekend work and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, verify and confirm batch sheets, orders and instructions.
  • Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to setup, operate and monitor packaging machinery.
  • Strong attention to food safety and product quality.
  • Willingness to work weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily schedule with supervisors/leads.
  • Obtain batch sheets and process check sheets from Supervisor.
  • Verify materials and ingredients match batch sheet.
  • Inspect equipment for cleanliness, allergen issues and foreign objects.
  • Complete machinery setup/shutdown per batch sheet.
  • Mix/cook batches or wrap product per formula in batch sheet.
  • Monitor equipment to stay within process parameters.
  • Perform quality inspections and checks.
  • Maintain a clean, dry, and safe working environment.
  • Rotate into Packer duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $17.60 To $19.60 Hourly

Position Summary

Sets up, operates and tends to machines thatmix, cook, season, convey and wrap product.Ensures product remains within company specifications by following batchsheets, formulas and setup procedures.Ensures product remains within food safety guidelines and product specifications. Operates equipment tomeet production requirements.Measuresand records data.Operates equipment ina safe manner to meet production requirements and to minimize waste andmaximize productivity. Verifies that all labels and ingredients and materialsare correct to ensure food safety.

DUTIES
  • Reviewsdaily schedule with supervisors/leads.
  • Obtainsbatch sheets/formula sheets and process check sheets from Supervisor.
  • Verifiesthat all obtained materials/ingredients match items listed on batch sheet.
  • Inspectsthe appropriate production equipment for cleanliness, allergen issues andforeign objects and material.
  • Completesmachinery setup/shutdown process for specific operation ofequipment to the batch sheet.
  • Mixes/cooks batches or wraps product to specifications as per formula in batch sheet.
  • Monitorsequipment throughout production run to ensure operation is within processparameters.
  • Performsand maintain quality inspections and checks.
  • Communicatesand works cooperatively with co-workers.
  • Performsdaily housekeeping chores.
  • Maintainsa clean, dry and safe working environment by consistently adhering to good
    housekeeping practices.
  • Workssafely and performs daily safety checks on all equipment.
  • Performs calculations for partial formulas, ingredient and materials usage and waste
    recording.
  • Responsiblefor recognizing and reporting food safety and employee safety issues.
  • Performs changeovers with adherence to Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Rotates into Packer position to perform Packer duties as business/operational needs dictate.
  • Performsother duties as assigned.
CLIMATE

Worksindividually and in teams with little supervision.Accuracy and attention to detail arecritical as mistakes can cause significant lost productivity, loss of rawmaterials, downtime or food safety issues.The close proximity to processing equipment produces a loud workenvironment.Operators must communicateeffectively with all operators and supervisors and work within establishedprocedures and guidelines for safe and efficient operations.Operators will be exposed to heavy machinery,heat, humidity and strenuous work.Thework is rather fast-paced and involves a considerable amount of climbing,lifting and reaching.This position requiresweekend work and work in excess of eight hours per day as business prioritiesdictate.

Thisjob may direct co-workers daily activities but has no direct responsibility.

Qualifications

Education and/orExperience

Priormanufacturing experience setting up and adjusting production processing orpackaging machinery is preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read, verify and confirm all batch sheets, orders andinstructions in a timely manner.

Mathematical Skills

Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Reasoning Ability

Abilityto follow formulas and mix a quality product.Ability to recognize problems and determine a course of action such asmaking authorized corrections or knowing when to seek assistance from a supervisor.
