Job summary

Packaging-Corporation-of-America is seeking a reliable 1st shift operator to run production equipment, maintain quality, and lead a machine crew through setups and changeovers.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong safety habits, teamwork, and good communication. Experience with corrugated printing is a plus; weekend overtime may be required. Wage starts at $27.56 per hour with benefits including vacation, holidays, and a 401(k) plan.

Shift: 1st (M-F 7am-3pm)

Pay Rate: $27.56

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform a variety of manufacturing tasks using Production Equipment to ensure steady workflow.

Ensure a high quality product is coming off the machine.

Conduct quality checks to ensure boxes have required dimensions and zero material defects.

Lead machine crew with setups/change overs.

Problem solve when issues with the machine arise.

Complete necessary reports.

Other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED.

Strong safety background and good attendance record.

Works well in a team environment.

Ability to work any shift, including overtime and weekends.

Strong mechanical aptitude and be good communicator.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience operating corrugated printing equipment.

Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment, with an understanding that temperatures and volumes of work may vary.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Starting salary for position: $27.56 per hour.
• Bonus: Annual – Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
• Paid Vacation: 1 week per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
• Paid Holidays.
