Job summary

Dee Zee, Inc is seeking a Machine Operator to operate diverse production equipment, including punches, presses, lasers, and CNC mills. The role requires careful measurement, blueprint reading, and strict adherence to safety standards.

You will feed materials, check quality, and document daily production data in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in manufacturing, strong teamwork, and effective communication skills, with a focus on safety and cleanliness on the shop

Qualifications

• 1+ year of manufacturing and/or machine operation experience preferred.
• Ability to stop the production line due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Effective communication.
• Must be quality-focused and maintain an organized, safe work area.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, protractor and other inspection tools.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Feed raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines.
• Maintain a safe, clean workspace per 6S procedures.
• Sand and deburr parts.
• Support environmental policy and waste reduction efforts.
• Tend to machines and products to ensure quality and proper operation.
• Complete daily machine check sheets and production records.
• Perform frequent quality checks to ensure part quality.

Position Summary:

The Machine Operator’s primary responsibility is operating production equipment, including punch presses, press brakes, folding machines, turret presses, saw drill boxes, flat bed lasers, Kuka lasers, tube benders, buffing lines, and CNC mills.

Accountabilities:

• Feed the necessary raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures, rules and regulations.
• Sand and deburr parts.
• Support Dee Zee’s environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste and acting on environment performance results & findings.
• Tend to the machine and product to ensure quality and proper operation.
• Complete daily machine check sheets and production recording.
• Ensure quality parts are being produced by making frequent quality checks.

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of manufacturing and/or machine operation experience preferred.
• Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Effective communication.
• Must be quality-focused and maintain an organized, safe work area.
• Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools needed.
• Ability to follow first-piece inspection and approval procedures prior to full production.
