FLSA Status: Non-Exempt. Department: Operations. Reports to: Assistant Manager, Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
The Machine Operator 1 (MO1) is a field‑based role responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing railway maintenance and inspection equipment, including Loram’s on‑track MOW equipment and vehicles. The operator may be assigned to various equipment platforms to meet business needs.
Internal: 3+ months experience with Loram equipment or equivalent in a 24/7 environment; some assignments require excavator experience. External: 2+ years demonstrated technical skills (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, machine operations) and communication abilities.
Maintain railroad certifications, CPR/First Aid, and a valid driver’s license.
Salary range: $41,600 – $56,300 per year, with potential annual bonus and paid time off. Starting pay: $20.00 – $21.00 per hour.
