Job Description:

The Care and Treats Operator provides Mars Petcare Mattoon with the knowledge and skills to effectively and safely package high-quality finished products according to Quality standards and production schedules. This role ensures our customers receive the proper product at the right destination in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability and willingness to develop and manage oneself, demonstrate self-directed workgroup leadership, and contribute to efficiency, quality, and cost optimization with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely.
• Ability to work rotating shifts under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, high, and/or confined spaces, with full mobility including climbing ladders and stairs.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform duties on a rotational basis working 12-hour shifts in the Care and Treat packaging hall, including line operation, changeovers, troubleshooting, and quality checks. Responsibilities include:

• Operating equipment such as flow wrappers, KHS and Roberts FF&S, Somic case packers, and palletizers.
• Monitoring product flow and meeting cut-off and tone requirements.
• Entering work orders into the MIS system and supporting maintenance calls.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, addressing food safety and quality concerns, and promoting teamwork and problem-solving.

The starting pay range is USD 19.84 - USD 27.28, with variations depending on experience and location. Additional benefits may include variable pay, medical/dental, 401k, and paid time off, depending on the position and schedule.
