Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Asheville, NC is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift to operate production machines and help build turbine blades and vanes. The role requires on-site work, willingness to work overtime, and adherence to 5S and quality checks.

You will train on the job to be certified in at least two auxiliary equipment groups and record TPM data in Solumina, contributing to safe, efficient manufacturing. RTX/Pratt & Whitney values teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of production machines on second shift.

  • Maintain clean and organized work area (5S) and follow work instructions.

This is a 2nd Shift position: M-TH, 415pm to 245am

What You Will Do:

  • Machine Operator 1 - Ability to operate a variety of production machines. Train on the job to become proficient and certified in performing the operations in at least 2 auxiliary equipment standard work groups, e.g., Bake/Grit; PHT; Pinhole Check and Surface Roughness Analyzer. This position will require performing routine operations. Working on the production line you will produce blades and or vanes as well as perform all quality checks. These positions require shift work and ability to work overtime when needed.
  • Perform daily standard work and perform complex operations successfully and adhere to standard work and all work instructions while performing tasks
  • Clock labor in Solumina, perform Daily Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and document results
  • Keep equipment and work area clean (5S).
  • May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills - Responsibilities are not limited to the listed items above and can be changed or modified based on skill level, proficiency, and overall performance.

  • Previous Manufacturing experience or education or Advanced Manufacturing Certification
