Job summary

RTX is seeking a production line operator to produce blades and perform quality checks on the line. This role requires shift work and overtime when needed. You will read process sheets, troubleshoot minor equipment issues, and maintain clean work areas while meeting standard work instructions.

Responsibilities include operating multiple machines, helping teammates, and supporting continuous improvement. U.S. citizenship and prior manufacturing experience or education are required.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate degree in business or related field is preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing experience or education or Advanced Manufacturing Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily standard work and complex operations on the production line.
  • Read and interpret process sheets and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
  • Maintain quality levels and support TPM and housekeeping as required.
  • Operate multiple production machines and assist training of new employees.

Summary: Working on the production line you will produce blades as well as perform all quality checks. These positions require shift work and ability to work overtime when needed.

What You Will Do:
  • Perform daily standard work and perform complex operations successfully.
  • Read and interpret process sheets. Able to troubleshoot minor issues with equipment to continue processing production material. Clock labor in Solumina. Perform Daily Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and document results. Be a resource of knowledge and problem solving for others in the area. Keep equipment and work area clean (6S). Adhere to standard work and all work instructions while performing tasks. Maintain acceptable quality levels on routine and/or complex operations. Must be able to run all equipment in the entire work loop and produce product at rate in multiple cells per standard work. Train (through shadowing) other operators to perform work tasks. (Level II or III) The person in this position will frequently move about the machine line to operate various manufacturing equipment (approximately 90% of the time). Transport product and/or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Demonstrate and maintain effective leadership skills. Exhibits consistent skill and positive attitude towards their job while demonstrating the highest degree of quality and productivity. Identify and correct basic to moderately difficult operational issues. Ability to correctly identify the root cause of operating problems. May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills. Responsibilities are not limited to the listed items above and can be changed or modified based on skill level, proficiency, and overall performance.
  • Operate a variety of production machines as well as perform the following activities: included but not limited to ability and certification (OJT) to run all product lines of each product cell, set up of machines, perform rework through grit blast/airflow loop, troubleshoot, properly & effectively be shadowed by and offer guidance to new employees. Employees will have knowledge of current cycle times associated with each product.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Previous Manufacturing experience or education or Advanced Manufacturing Certification
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Associate’s degree in business administration or related field
  • More than two (2) years working experience plus a demonstrated ability to effectively manage production work activities.
