  • Make minor adjustments to packaging equipment with safety, quality, morale, costs and customer emphasis.
  • Set up packaging equipment efficiently for fast changeovers and uptime.
  • Maintain product quality with regular inspection and adjustments, escalate as needed.
  • Complete necessary SPC transactions accurately and timely.
  • Engage in continuous technical learning and progress with the Packaging Manager.
  • Demonstrate professional interpersonal skills to support business objectives.
  • Support line operations to maintain production flow and know standard/run speeds.
  • Contribute to visual controls and continuous improvement programs.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation/change-over of various types of packaging equipment while supplying a quality product. Also responsible to complete non-technical tasks related to packaging as needed- stacking, packing.

OB DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • Make minor adjustments to assigned packaging equipment with safety, quality, morale, costs and customer emphasis
  • Perform proper set-up of packaging equipment in an effective and timely manner- measured by length of change over and efficiency after start-up
  • Continuous attention to quality of product- constant inspection and adjustment and or escalation as needed
  • Complete necessary SPC transactions accurately and timely.
  • Continuous technical learning- advance training plan and technical aptitude as set by Packaging Manager
  • Demonstrate professional interpersonal skills to enable business objectives
  • When necessary, perform any line operations to maintain flow of production including knowing standard speed and run speed
  • Support visual controls program and other continuous improvement programs as necessary
  • Exercise strong communication skills with supervisors, operators and support/leadership.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement programs such as suggestion program, kaizen teams, autonomous maintenance and other similar company initiatives
  • Follow all prescribed safety/housekeeping practices and procedures. While identifying and escalating safety hazards on machinery and in work area to management with urgency
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
