Job Summary:

The Machine Operator will set up, operate, and adjust machinery used in the can-making process, performing quality checks to ensure product specifications are met.

Job Duties:

• Read blueprints and can drawings to determine specifications and tooling.
• Set up and operate manufacturing equipment such as extrusion presses, liner machines, printers, and neckers.
• Perform routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and changeovers.
• Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed.
• Observe environmental factors affecting equipment performance.
• Maintain organized work area, inventory, and stack finished items.
• Conduct quality checks and record findings.
• Communicate defects and outputs to team members.
• Stop or modify work processes for non-conformance or safety issues.
• Report food safety concerns to the quality assurance manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Measuring skills with calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
• Quality control skills to identify variations and defects.
• Basic computer, data entry, and blueprint reading skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Ability to stand for long periods on a concrete floor.

Work Environment:

This role is in a manufacturing setting with exposure to moving mechanical parts and noise.

Compensation & Benefits:

• 2-2-3 schedule with every other weekend off.
