Job summary

Ionbond USA is seeking a Machine Operator in West Chicago to operate high-vacuum PVD coating chambers and handle customer parts with care. You will support maintenance, post-process inspection, and fixture batch loads while upholding strict quality standards.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing, strong troubleshooting and reading English instructions, and a 3:00 PM–11:30 PM schedule in a fast-paced environment. Some weekends may occur.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills valued.
• Familiarity with machine operation and manufacturing tools and equipment.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and fast-paced work ability.
• Good manual dexterity; able to read instructions in English (8-point font).

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor high-vacuum PVD coating chambers per specs.
• Load and unload customer parts with care and accuracy.
• Perform general maintenance and clean interior of coating machines.
• De-fixture batch loads after processing and inspect parts visually.
• Report issues and help ensure production standards are met.

Candidates should be familiar with machine operation and manufacturing tools and equipment, possess strong critical-thinking skills, communicate effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Good manual dexterity is required, with the ability to handle precision-machined parts and read instructions in English, including documents with font sizes as small as 8-point. This position operates Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM–11:30 PM shift, requires the ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8-hour shifts, and may include occasional weekend work.
