Looking to join a FIVE-time US Best Managed Company award winner? KENT Nutrition Group, a member of the KENT Corporation family, has an opening for a Machine Operator at their Waterloo, IA plant. The Machine Operator will be responsible for routine tasks related to feed production, including quality control, ingredient and feed processing, manufacturing, load out, ingredient receiving and storage, equipment maintenance, and housekeeping. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, is customer-focused, hardworking, and a team player. This is a 1st shift position.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate equipment daily to process and manufacture feed products according to company SOPs.
- Operate bagger, sewing machine, and forklift safely and proficiently for optimal production.
- Follow warehouse and loading protocols.
- Ensure quality assurance protocols are met regarding ingredient receiving, load-out, and bagging.
- Record and document all feed manufactured during shift.
- Mix and prepare livestock feeds accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with production scheduling, inventory planning, and control.
- Support equipment maintenance and repair as needed.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service and assist customers as needed.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with managers, co-workers, and customers.
- Perform general facility work and other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a strong safety culture and report workplace hazards.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- Farming background is a plus.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication skills (verbal, written, math).
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Understanding of cGMPs, HACCP Feed & Safety Plan, and FSMA.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Ability to work in dust, adverse weather, and temperature conditions.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
