Job summary

ALPLA Dayton Plant in Vandalia, OH is seeking a production operator to oversee the line from start to finish, ensuring seamless handoff from production to packaging. You will monitor packaging, start and stop machines, and perform small adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability is preferred in plastics environments.
  • Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Overall line responsibility from production to packaging
  • Start/Stop the machine
  • Make minor process adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Monitor material control (weight distribution, regrind levels, watch tail lengths)
  • Performs regular quality control throughout the shift and visual quality checks
  • Prepares machine for mold change
  • Troubleshooting
  • Ensure goods are produced in correct quantity and in accordance with agreed specifications
  • Accurately records goods produced, and problems encountered during shift
  • Performs color changes and material changes
  • Develops newer operators by providing and supporting training activities
  • Assist Supervisor or Mold Change Team with mold/color changes as needed
  • Maintain good housekeeping in and around the machine and within department

Skills

WHAT YOU WILL ENJOY DOING
