Job summary

Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley is seeking a Machine Operator in Saugerties, NY. The role operates machine shop equipment for magnetic products, following setups and instructions provided by team members.

Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–4:30pm with 10-hour days and overtime available on Fridays. This temp-to-perm position may involve CNC console work and routine quality checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior machining experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operates surface grinding equipment to machine magnetic materials.
• Inspects finished product to ensure specifications.
• Reads and understands simple MI’s with direction from others.
• Notifies supervisor of equipment or product problems.
• Follows safety, quality and departmental procedures.
• May install grinding wheel on spindle.
• May operate CNC console on occasion.
• May pack and stamp finished goods.
• Performs other duties to meet objectives.

Job Summary

Operates various pieces of machine shop equipment used in the manufacture of gapped and custom magnetic products using setups and instructions provided by other personnel.

Job Duties

• Operates various surface grinding equipment to machine magnetic materials.
• Inspects finished product to ensure specifications for a particular operation are met.
• Reads and understands simple manufacturing instructions (MI’s) with direction from other personnel.
• Notify group leader and/or supervisor of problems with equipment and/or product.
• Follow all safety, quality and departmental procedures.
• May install grinding wheel on spindle.
• May be required to operate CNC computer console on occasion.
• May be required to pack and stamp or otherwise mark finished goods.
• Perform other duties as assigned in order to meet organizational and customer objectives and business conditions.

Qualifications

• Skills & Abilities: General understanding of mechanical equipment.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to use small hand tools.
• Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometer and calipers Good working knowledge of basic math.
• Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED.
• No previous machining experience is required.
