Job summary

Lancesoft is seeking a Machine Operator to work in Owego, NY on a 12-month contract. You will operate bench- or floor-type machine tools and assist with setups and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate bench- or floor-type machine tools and related equipment (lathes, mills, drills, punches, saws).
• Set up machines, make adjustments, and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• Check work against gauges and fixtures to ensure close tolerances.
• Some machines may be numerically controlled.
• Monitor and verify quality using SPC or similar procedures.

Job Description

• Operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and equipment such as small lathes, power mills, extruding machines, drills or punch presses, power brakes, shears or saws.
• May set up machining machines and make adjustments, and perform maintenance on machines.
• Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances.
• Some machines may be numerically controlled.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
