Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Machine Operator within the Advanced Manufacturing Group. You will join a team of machinists, engineers, and makers supporting development across the organization. The role emphasizes safe operation, process documentation, and collaboration with engineering to standardize production.

The position is a first shift, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with responsibilities spanning setup, operation, maintenance, and logistics support to keep production flowing.

  • Experience in machining environments and metal fabrication.
  • Ability to operate NC and manual machining equipment safely.
  • Comfort with documentation and standardization of processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily machining functions including chip, coolant, and work-holding management.
  • Operate NC and manual machines such as saws, mills, and lathes.
  • Prepare and route materials for machining operations.
  • Inspect components and ensure quality standards.
  • Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of machinery and equipment.
  • Support logistics and infrastructure buildouts for production.
  • Document production processes and work with leadership on initiatives.

Job description

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. As a Machine Operator with the Advanced Manufacturing Group, you will be part of a hardworking team of machinists, engineers, and makers supporting development across different groups at Blue Origin.

Responsibilities
  • Support the daily machining functions of the team, including but not limited to: chip, coolant, and work-holding management
  • Operate various machines as required, both NC controlled and manual, including but not limited to saws, mills & lathes
  • Prep and route material for machining operations
  • Utilize and inspect components as required
  • Perform daily maintenance and regular cleaning of machinery and equipment
  • Support logistic operations for the team
  • Support the buildout of infrastructure and process flow initiatives
  • Work with engineering to document and standardize production processes
  • Partner with leadership to execute initiatives work based on organizational goals
  • Perform all tasks in safe and responsible manner
  • Schedule: First shift (Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm)
Qualifications
  • Desire to operate and learn in a constantly evolving machining environment
  • Demonstrated understanding on how metallic products are made, with a focus on machining and fabrication
  • Ability to take on challenges with incomplete information and pivot to drive progress.
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding to operate machining and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
  • Work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and operate enterprise production software on computers
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships
  • Must be able to obtain certification to drive forklift
  • Must be physically able to: Lift and carry 50 lbs.
Desired
  • Experience in a CNC machining environment, including the logistics of material flow
  • Experience with operating CNC machines, including but not limited to saws, mills, lathes
  • Experience inspecting components with hand tools
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
